Our client operates a transportation services within Sydney Harbour and the Parramatta River each year providing over 175,000 services and transporting more than 15 million people.

This Great opportunity for a Safety & Systems Advisor to provide support and advice to employees on safety, quality & environment standards.

The position requires to maintain the management system documentation and undertakes internal audits against the requirements of ISO9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, OHSAS 18001:2007 / ISO 45000 to ensure ongoing compliance.

Reporting to the Maritime Safety & Assurance Manager, the Safety & Systems Advisor works with the Subject Matter Experts within the organisation to promote and deliver the management system that helps drive a proactive safety culture. Also the position will assist the Health & Wellbeing Coordinator and provide Return to Work , Wellbeing and Safety (WHS) Services when required.

Principal Accountabilities and major Activities

1. Manage the Management System and ensure that remains current by:

▪ Developing and maintaining TDSF’s Management System documentation and the associated controlled distribution processes.

* Maintaining the recommendation/corrective action tracking system.

* Maintaining databases for the collation and analysis of the management system performance.

* Conducting internal audits against the requirements contained in the Management System ensuring that audit reports are provided to line managers and to the Executive Team in a timely manner.

* Monitoring legislation, vessel classification requirements, etc to ensure that the Management System documentation is compliant and reflects best practice.

* Coordinating the conduct of external audits of the Management System.

* Ensuring that systems are in place to report and follow up on any safety issues identified that may affect staff or customers.

2. Develop working relationships with employees to help drive a culture of compliance and safety by:

* Working with the various Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) / document owners to ensure that their Standards are reviewed and updated.

* Consulting with SMEs in the development of clear and concise Management Standards which deliver our risk controls in a consistent manner.

* Building and maintaining strong working relationships with business managers and staff to promote Management System.

* Providing advice to line managers and staff on the contents of the Management System Standards and other supporting documentation.

3. Safety and Risk Management by:

* Supporting Line Mgrs in the delivery of the Management System and maintaining the operational risk register.

* Ensuring risk controls contained within the risk register & Managing the workplace hazard reporting requirement.

* Managing workplace hazard reporting requirement and risk.

Experience and Qualifications:

* Qualifications as a Certified Qulaity Management Systems Auditor or Lead Auditor

* Development of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems / Software

* Undertaking risk workshops and the translation of the outputs into management standards

* Training or experience with ICAM

* Lead Auditor Training and experience

* Superior skills with Microsoft Office suite especially Excel.
