Spinifex Recruiting are working with one the largest regional Accounting Firms in Australia. They are currently looking for an experienced Payroll professional to join their team in any one of their five office locations strategically placed across NSW. These locations include Wagga Wagga, Dubbo, Cooma, Goulburn or Moree. In the role of Payroll Officer, you will provide support to the Finance Manager and ensure the development and delivery of the payroll function for the 140 employees of the firm while also providing general support to the finance team.

You will develop strong relationships with team members on all levels and are responsible for the day to day payroll administration. The role will provide considered advice and assistance ensuring appropriateness and accuracy.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed effectively and efficiently in accordance with relevant Awards, statutory requirements and Firm policies and procedures

• Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income, social security taxes, employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments

• Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures and all records involved in payroll, taxation, superannuation, leave and management reporting

• Providing considered advice and assistance to the Firm’s Directors and team members, ensuring appropriateness and accuracy

• Providing general support to ensure the effective processing of the firm’s internal finance systems and procedures through such tasks as account and credit card processing, reconciliations and end of month journals

• Resolving payroll discrepancies

• Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed

To be successful in this position you must be a highly motivated Payroll professional with a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role. You must have demonstrated high level communication skills with an ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders across all levels. A strong attention to detail and accuracy is imperative and being well organised and efficient is required. A high degree of professionalism and discretion due to the confidential natures of information being processed is also essential.
