Our client is a leading Australian Agricultural Asset Manager with properties spaning across the eastern Australian boarders. After an exciting relocation of their head office to Wagga Wagga NSW, we are sourcing local talent to build their new regional teams.

Spinifex Recruiting are sourcing an experienced Payroll Officer/Bookkeeper to join their newly located head office. This will be a full-time permanent role that will be required to provide a high level of detail to Payroll functions and support to the Accounting teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• An awareness of awards/agreements in relation to payroll and bookkeeping functions

• End to end processing of selected fortnightly payrolls, ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently

• Calculating annual leave and LSL provisions/accruals and termination payments.

• Recording data in order to maintain and update payroll information

• On-going maintenance of payroll system and leave planning system

• Processing increases and calculation of back pays

• Resolving payroll discrepancies

• Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures

• Developing ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed

• Working in Collaboration with the HR/WHS Manager

• Assisting the Finance team as required

To be successful for this role, you will have tertiary qualification in Finance/Business Administration or related field, or equivalent industry experience with a minimum 2-3 years of payroll experience. You will have demonstrated experience using payroll systems, and an understanding of modern awards.

You will have the ability to work in both a team environment, collaboratively with the accounting teams, and independently, with the ability to adapt and deliver in a fast-paced environment. You will be able to think on your feet, show a high level of initiative- to plan, organise, analyse and solve problems, along with sound decision making skills with attention to detail. In short, you will be a “can do” person.
